Common Tern on a Float

Crab pot floats make great resting spots for many birds while they fish the waters.

Common Tern

This Common Tern’s float perch even matches its beak and feet!Β  😊

    • Thank you, Susan! When I saw the orange reflecting in the distance AND then a bird on top, well you know I signaled Rick to motor towards it! We drifted by at a distance, I got several angles of him perched, but it was that reflection I wanted too. πŸ™‚

  1. You have a color-coordinated Tern, far from common! That’s a cute photo, Donna. πŸ™‚

  2. I almost thought that was floating litter but it is recycled milk cartons. A nice spot for the birdie πŸ˜€ Nice shot Donna! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

    • Thank you, Al! The Chesapeake Bay hosts the best-tasting blue crabs (steamed with Old Bay seasoning, yummy!). So many people try to catch their own. You are required to obtain a Maryland crabbing license, your floater is to be marked with your license number, you’re to man your pots, and they are not to be left unattended for days. Some of the rules! πŸ™‚
