Thank you, Mother Earth

.

I’ve been literally unfunctionable since Thursday with an angry tooth, followed by Monday oral surgery.  I’m finally feeling like I’m part of this Earth again today, thankfully.  I’ve missed everyone.

.

Today is Earth Day.  I love Mother Earth and am thankful for the wonderful gifts she provides us.  A post was a must.  🙂

  1. This picture is right on the money! We thank Earth for the wonderful creatures that accompany humanity and the beautiful planet that is our home. Thank you, Donna. 🙂

    • Birds are a true treasure, I know we both share that joy. 🙂 Thank you Ellen, doing 1000% better. With my dentist out until Monday, I was told to survive on Advil, and it went from bad to worse. Early Monday morning when the dentist saw me & my condition, he shot me quickly with novocaine, and got me immediately in to a surgeon. Along with a lot of apologizing. 😔

  2. Sad you have been in pain Donna, as we know teeth really hurt when they angry and you are waiting for treatment. Glad that things are better now and you can enjoy our beautiful surroundings again, for our enjoyment and appreciation is part of our worship of the One who designed made it all. What a collection of white birds, from this distance it is difficult to discern the species.

    • Thank you, Ashley, it was a very unpleasant situation, I truly couldn’t function at all for five days. Dentist was very sorry when he saw me early Monday morning, shot me with novocaine and got me an immediate appt with a surgeon. So glad to be back to the world! 🙂 Because my wordpress theme doesn’t allow for enlarging a single photo displayed, I enlarged my 30 MB original photo on my laptop to see and confirm those ten species I listed. Guaranty, I missed some I’m sure, including the smaller birds flying from mangrove to mangrove tree. 😉

  3. Perfect post Donna! And I sympathize with your pain! Oh I hope you are better! I just had implant surgery with bone grafting. No fun. I am much better now though. Happy Earth Day! 😊

    • Thank you, Lisa! OUCH, on my, I truly feel for you. That’s a lot of work over a long time. I am glad you told me you’re feeling much better now. Happy Earth Day to you too! 😊

  4. So sorry you have had to suffer the pain of a tooth gone bad. Those nerves are really powerful when they get angry. Glad you have the root canal behind you so that you can enjoy a pain free Earth Day!

    • Thank you, Susan. The worse was suffering for five days before being seen and told to survive on Advil til then. That was crazy. I almost became a crazy lady, I think, lol. Something about extreme mouth pain and how it effects your whole well-being on trying to function normally. (No root canal, it was a back molar that hung in there for a long time with filling and a crack. Never bothered me til now, the crack went further, exposing the nerve. I had them take it out, the dentist agreed it probably wasn’t worth trying to save.)

  5. You have my sympathy but I am pretty sure you are feeling relief now. That was the worst pain I have ever felt and I wish you a speedy recovery but rest so you heal properly. Beautiful image of Mother Earth with the birds, water, sky and lush growth. All the elements are covered. Happy Earth day and may we treat our planet with more respect.

    • Thank you, Jane, I am feeling a 1000% better. Mouth pain is unbelievable, you cannot get comfortable no matter what without any pain relief, it effects your whole body. So sorry you know that feeling. I love your joyful comments of my shot and your love for our Earth as well! 🥰

  6. A beautiful tribute to Mother Earth Donna and we wish you a speedy recovery 💚🙏

  7. Love the quote — so inspiring! Very sorry to hear about your angry tooth and oral surgery. Tooth pain can be so intense. I hope you’re on the mend and back to functioning soon! I missed you! Happy (day after) Earth Day!

  8. A beautiful photo! Mother Earth has so many gifts for us, birds included. I’m so thankful. I’m sorry you went through hell with your tooth. Glad you’re better now. We should never take good health for granted.

    • Thank you very much! 🥰 I should have pressured Friday morning with the receptionist I needed to be seen, my dentist was off for the day. You are right, we should never take good health for granted. I am very thankful that it didn’t happen until we got home from Florida! It sucks getting older, lol.

  9. Your photo shows such a wonderful variety in one tiny spot, Donna. We live on an incredible planet.
I hope you will continue to feel better. Darn teeth (I can relate 😦 ).
    Tanja

    • Thank you, Tanja! 🥰 Sorry you can relate, ouch. Oral surgeon asked if I have had any children while going at it, that it wasn’t as bad as that. I begged to differ, and I had two! lol

  10. How wonderful of you to celebrate Earth Day and share this delightful congregation of waders with us, after having such a harrowing health ordeal, Donna. I hope your healing continues and you’re feeling better again soon.

  11. Hi Donna, trust you’re much recovered now. Sorry to hear about the intense pain. I noticed you said your theme doesn’t allow you to enlarge a single image displayed. I wondered about that because creating the link to an enlarged image is part of the WP editor – using the ‘link’ icon. I wouldn’t have thought your theme would over-ride that function?

    • Thank you, Liz! Ugh, now I have mouth thrush, on meds for that. Sucks getting old. LOL Re my theme not allowing a single image display to enlarge, I am running on an old theme that quit full support several years ago. It still will enlarge my photos though if I put them in a gallery display. That seems to be the only thing I can’t do, and I cringe at the thought of trying to change my theme to a newer supported theme that could mess up my past 11 years of posts. I’m still using Classic Editor too.

  12. So happy you were able to find the dental care you needed and are recovering from that ordeal… Mother Earth is quite something else. Do remember James Hansen’s and the IPPPCs warnings in the 80’s. In my hopeful naïveté I assumed science would find the solutions, after all we had decades to fix it. But didn’t consider the lack of political will and the.selling out to corporations that have been working against us. Please keep your amazing photos coming. They’re inspiring us to take action and keep the pressure on our leadership to do what’s needed to save our Mother…

    • Thank you, Carol! Your comments certainly bring up food for thought that since the 80’s (that is 40 years ago!!), we are where we are today in even more trouble. Big corps, politics, and the chingching is all the big guys think about. I worry about what’s it going to be like for my grandboys and their children…. 😟
