Eagle Perched In A Tree (B&W)

While a Bald Eagle preened in my last post, its mate was in the same tree, keeping a watchful eye.

  1. I’ve seen a pair together on the road to the Visitor’s Center — I wonder if it is the same pair. Great shot, by the way.

    • When did you see the pair by the Visitor’s Center? This Eagle and the one preening were perched in a tree down the dirt road to the Butterfly Bay trail. When I saw these two, I also saw three others in the sky at the same time. I’ve learned there are approximately 15 resident Eagles around the refuge year-round. With the winter approaching, the Eagle migrants are arriving now too.

      • Looking back at the pair I remember, it was longer ago than I thought – time flies!! – it was from January 1, 2020. I think we went up there on New Year’s Day so I could try out my new 200-500 Nikon lens I had gotten for Christmas.
