  1. A terrific series of action shots Donna. Love the perfect timing of your captures where her tail feathers are flared, her head/neck is arched, and she’s just beginning to enter the water.

      • It’s always fascinating to simply observe wildlife behavior. And it’s important to learn patience to succeed in wildlife photography. Applying those simple guidelines gives us nature photographers the edge to better anticipate a specific action and thus be fully prepared to press the shutter button at “the decisve moment”. Our reward? The shots you had captured!

        • Thank you Steve! I’m like you, I’d rather hang for long periods with a subject to try to capture behavior rather than snap a few and move on. Rick hates that! 😉 But by doing this, I have learned so much more about a bird, and can possibly anticipate a behavior action. Now turtles and GBH’s, well, we all know they don’t give a hoot on moving much to accommodate, lol, so patience is definitely needed! And I’ve mentioned before, birds & wildlife have taught me patience very well! 😊
