These are quite beautiful in the water.I have only seen them washed up on beaches when they are dead. Forgive my ignorance, but this is why I am asking. Do these sting, and how do you avoid them when swimming?
Thank you, Jane. Yes, they sting whatever they touch, including humans. They will not kill a human, but you’ll get a burn rash they say hurts terribly. Usually the jellyfish don’t wash up into the tributaries from the Bay in large numbers, so you just watch out for them. I personally do not swim anywhere there could be jellyfish, I’m not willing to take the chance.
