They look pretty good considering how far they travel. I can understand why the farmer’s don’t like them, when they come in droves and eat the seeds, but I suppose rightly or wrongly that that doesn’t occur in the fall. They are still leaving here, seen them for a few weeks now, also saw a flock of swans a couple of days ago. That always looks and sounds impressive.
Yes, they can pretty much destroy farmer’s fall/winter vegetation. It is common to see hunters’ blinds on many fields, sometimes with hundreds of geese decoys set out, trying to entice them to land. (Geez, some decoys even mechanically turn their heads or flap to appear real.) Haven’t seen swans yet here. Love when they arrive!
They look lovely coming and going, although I suppose the farmers don’t think so.I always feel a little melancholic when they leave, because I know the long months of winter are just around the corner.
