Bald Eagle Perched and In Flight
Pulling out of my driveway a few days ago, I looked up and saw a perched Bald Eagle! I stopped the car, grabbed my camera in the passenger seat, and got out slowly to get a photo.

He suddenly started calling.

And getting excited, fluffing those chest feathers!

A female eagle overhead returned the calls. As I was trying to find her, the perched eagle took flight to chase after her.

He quickly caught up with her and they began to fly together.

It was beautiful to watch them bond while in flight.

That last one was a poor shot but I loved the precision flying together!

What an extraordinary experience. Thanks for sharing it!
I am glad you enjoyed it, you’re welcome!
Great shots and commentary.
Thank you!
Timing, good timing. And location too. Nice !
If I hadn’t walked out, gotten into my car and started moving down my driveway the moment I did…..well, I’d have never seen it. RPRT for sure! Thanks!
They are so close together on that last shot. Amazing! Thanks for sharing it. 😁
Thank you, and you’re welcome!
So gorgeously natural. Nature at its finest. The last so apt. May they long continue to fly well together!
We are lucky to have eagles year-round, and I still get so excited when I see one. ☺️ It makes it even more special to have these such natural experiences around our home! I am blessed!!
Brilliant – especially the focus on the beak.
Gwen.
Thank you, Gwen!
You were lucky to catch two eagles on a romantic date. 🙂
It makes me smile when I see eagles bonding, it is exciting to watch them have fun!
Very nice, photos and recounting!
Thank you, Belinda!
Magnifique!
Merci beaucoup!
What a fabulous experience Donna, thank you so much for sharing! 💖 xxx
Happy you enjoyed, thank you!
What a gift Donna ! an amazing opportunity to capture many different aspects of this grand bird
It was indeed a gift, so exciting, Ashley!
That was a lucky day for you Donna – good thing the camera was right there to capture all these shots. Spring is in the air for Bald Eagles – that determined look on his face when he went after her for a glide together.
I love these right place right time moments! Yep, my camera was right beside me in my passenger seat. I never leave home without it! 🤪
You smart to do that Donna. I’ve been at Council Point Park and missed a photo op as I didn’t take the camera as it looked like snow/rain. You’re like the old American Express card touted by Karl Malden – we’re showing our age kid!
Wonderful! I bet you always have your camera ready to go in the car!🦅🦅
Thank you! You betcha, I never leave home without it! 😉
well captured – lucky to have a camera as a passenger!
Thank you! I never leave home without it! 😉
🌞👏🌟
Beautiful!
Thank you!
We are so accustomed to wild life parks etc that you are right we are privileged to have moments with our natural beautiful world. Thank you again.
How beautiful to have seen these majestic birds connect and soar together! What a thrill to witness!
At that precise moment, I forgot all about my errands, ha! It was all about watching them, she really gave him high speed maneuvering, teasing him “see if you can keep up with me!” hehe 😉
Beautiful – the last shot is the winner on the emotional level. Thanks for sharing all these wonderful photos!
Thank you, Sam!
Great photos, Donna. I particularly loved the first two photos in flight. And the precious flying is incredible!
Thank you, Curt!
Some magnificent shots of some magnificent birds.
Thank you, David!
I love the last photo. Synchronized eagle soaring. A new Olympics event!
Thank you Sue!
Stunning shots, Donna! So lucky!
Thank you, Terri!

Thank you!
very nice Donna! Enjoyed seeing your Eagle Images!
Thank you!
Great shots all but I’m partial to the open-beak ones. 🙂
Thank you, Dan! I can take a series of clicks; and if just one has the beak open, that’s the one I am partial to as well! 😊
