Camera – Don’t Leave Home Without It

I ran an errand yesterday; and of course, I grabbed my camera bag on the way out the door.

You know…..just in case.

I knew enroute, there was no time to stop and spend some leisure time with nature.

But there’s ALWAYS time for a quick one-on-one moment along the way.

White-tailed Deer

That handsome buck was in the same spot thirty minutes later when I passed back by!

Tundra Swan (my first sighting of the season)

Through a clump of trees, I spotted the big whiteness of the Tundra Swan on a farm pond where Canada Geese were also hanging.Β  I turned around to investigate further and was delighted to see my first this season.

And this one’s here a bit early!Β  Our Tundra Swans normally arrive starting mid to end of November; several thousand will spend their winter here.

Do you also carry your camera everywhere you go?Β  For that ‘just in case’ moment?

  1. Wonderful captures! I wish I could say I have my camera with me all the time but I don’t – unless you count an iPhone!

  2. Hello Donna,
What beautiful views! I usually bring my camera with me when I leave the house, but on those rare times I don’t, I always seem to have the best nature encounters πŸ˜‰

    • Hi Takami, thank you so much! I had the same ‘problem’, always saw something super-special and wouldn’t have my camera. I rarely leave home without now. To be prepared! πŸ˜‰ 😊

  3. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ“·πŸŒΉβ€..Yes, I really wear the camera everywhere. Actually, several cameras. They look at me as an object in a museum ….I wish you a beautiful Sunday, DonnaπŸ˜˜πŸ“·πŸŒž

    • I giggled at what your cameras think of you, Mic! πŸ˜… I was pretty sure you carried yours everywhere. 😊 I actually carry two cameras each time myself. Have a wonderful Sunday, too! I’m going to visit/play with my 4 yo grandson, and my cameras will go with me, oh yea! 😁

  4. Both are beautiful sightings!! I’m so guilty of leaving my camera behind if I’m just running errands. I have missed a few good birds doing that too. I’m glad you took your camera along!

  5. Awesome photos! Both are excellent captures of wildlife in their natural habitat. I have a 100-400mm lens on my camera so it’s really too big for me to carry it around.

    • Thank you, Simon! Just some lucky sightings on my part. πŸ™‚ I carry my camera and attached 200-500mm in a luggage bag (top loading bag) for carrying to/from my car, attached they lay in it perfectly and easy to carry. When I’m out walking, I don’t carry the bag, but yes, my camera/lens does get heavy after a while, thank goodness for the ‘handle’ attached to my lens for carrying. πŸ™‚
