1-2-3 Birds and Berries – #8

From a bird’s perspective, autumn is fabulous for the annual peak bounty of natural fruits, berries, seeds, and nuts it provides.  It is perfect timing for birds, giving them a chance to recover from their summer’s challenges of breeding, molting, and for many, their recent/ongoing migration.

This is my third “Birds and Berries” themed series post for this autumn at our new residence.  In the past two posts, I shared six species:  Eastern Bluebird, Blue Jay, White-throated Sparrow, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Purple Finch, and Ruby-crowned Kinglet.

I love a challenge and started wanting to capture as many ‘new’ species as possible from my property for this series to add to the first six.

Because it’s Christmas and I’ve had some good luck, here’s a bonus of 11 more bird species composed with autumn bounties. Enjoy!

Northern Cardinal (male)

House Sparrow (male)

Downy Woodpecker (female)

Red-bellied Woodpecker

American Robin

Song Sparrow

American Goldfinch (male)

Common Grackle

Northern Mockingbirds

Cedar Waxwing

Caroline Chickadee

Unless another “new species” pops up soon, the next few posts on this theme will be specie repeats, and I’ve got a folder full!

Me and the birdies have been having a berry good time!  😉
