  1. These birds are in such stark contrast to the white of the snow that each detail shows. The red is wonderful but then white picks out white on the others. Your backyard is a theatre of joy.

    • Thank you, Sandy! We love our backyard, we spend lots of time watching the wildlife through our big windows. Past few days, we saw deer and fox running across the back yard, different days thank goodness!

  2. Bird photos look extremely good against the blank whiteness of snow. The bright background may be hard to handle, but you’ve got that wonderful pop of colour for each bird.

  3. Another showcase of beautiful birds Donna, and snow birds to boot ! I am always amazed how they tolerate the cold conditions and how the Lord has given them the ability to do life in those conditions. I love your colourful sparrows, we have colourful finches here which are similar in speciation features. Of course I always love that you include my fav it looks gorgeous that Blue Jay. Enjoy your weekend my friend!

    • Thank you, Ashley! Boy, I have seen some really plumped up birds, spreading their feathers to keep warm. I have worried much about them the past couple weeks with our extreme weather conditions, and have kept the feeders and bird bath filled daily to help them. They do seem to do alright, the good Lord provides their abilities for sure!

  4. Ha ha – yes those squirrels are opportunists when I toss out sunflower seeds and chipped peanuts to the birds at the Park. The squirrels do get miffed when the Blue Jays beat them to the punch though. 🙂 All your birds look happy Donna!

    • Thank you, Linda, my birds all do seem happy, and are waiting for me every morning on my back porch. Pooping everywhere, HA! I am moving my feeders back to the trees today, we’ve finally started a big meltdown and I can get out there now without falling on my butt. Those squirrels, ugh! I see my jays outsmarting the squirrels too, it is all quite entertaining!

      • We are having a big meltdown as well – it was treacherous all around the house for weeks on end. I made a path for the mailman and for me to get to the garage using Prestone Driveway Heat. I’m on the shady side of the street – the sun doesn’t hit there until really late in the day.
