More Tundra Swans

Here’s a few more photos of our lovely winter Tundra Swans.

Very soon, they will be heading back home to the arctic tundra to breed and raise another family to bring back to visit us next winter!

  1. Reminds me I have to break down and brave the cold and get the Tundra and Trumpeters before they head out here as well – south Texas has thinned my winter coat ha.

      • Very much so. I am in awe of how effortlessly the large Mute swans take off and fly, although I don’t see that much unless there is a group of them, like down at the River. And that unique humming noise they make too.

  2. They’re so beautiful! You see them doing all sorts of things. I saw four again yesterday but, but they weren’t very active. Mostly sleeping or trying to. I think they fly in from over the hill rest up and then continue their journey north.

Your closing in-flight shot is lovely!
