More Tundra Swans
Here’s a few more photos of our lovely winter Tundra Swans.
Very soon, they will be heading back home to the arctic tundra to breed and raise another family to bring back to visit us next winter!

These Tundra Swans are such magnificent ‘tellers’ of time and ‘takers’ of seasons. I particularly liked the photograph of them turned away. All beautiful!
Thank you, Sandy! It’s so amazing how they can curl their necks up when they nap, so peaceful and elegant I think too!
Beautiful and majestic
Thank you Sheree!
Just beautiful!
Thank you, Pepper!

😊
Very good habitat shots, Donna!
Thank you, Indira!
I think our few have left already, or at least most of them.
I haven’t seen ‘my’ flock on the river across from us for over a week now, I think they’ve left too.
We still get between 200-300, and no more. Same year in, year out. I guess the extra long haul really isn’t worth it. Nothing here they can’t get by you 😆
Reminds me I have to break down and brave the cold and get the Tundra and Trumpeters before they head out here as well – south Texas has thinned my winter coat ha.
We are seeing less and less swans now, I think most of ours have already left to go home!
Majestic and beautiful Donna !
Thank you, Ashley!
Gorgeous images of these magnificent birds, Donna!
Thank you, Jane!
They are beautiful and so streamlined looking in air, with those black bills and black feet!
Such an elegant bird, amazing with their size. To see them run on the water and lift-off into flight amazes me every time!
Very much so. I am in awe of how effortlessly the large Mute swans take off and fly, although I don’t see that much unless there is a group of them, like down at the River. And that unique humming noise they make too.
Beautiful birds, and a beautiful day
Thank you, IJ!
They’re so beautiful! You see them doing all sorts of things. I saw four again yesterday but, but they weren’t very active. Mostly sleeping or trying to. I think they fly in from over the hill rest up and then continue their journey north.
Your closing in-flight shot is lovely!
Thank you, Deborah! I’m already missing my flock on the creek across from us, they’ve been gone over a week, so I’m guessing they started their journey home.
We rarely see Tundras. Thanks for the beautiful photos.
Happy to share mine with you, Lisa, thank you!
Such elegant birds, very nice, Donna 😊
Thank you, Belinda!
Appreciate the beautiful photos!
Thank you!
You are welcome!
