Who’s On The Fence – #2
Let’s see who’s been captured sitting on a fence!

Barn Swallow (male)

Osprey (male)

Brown-headed Cowbird (female)

Chipping Sparrow

House Sparrow (male)
Fences are a perfect perch for bird photography! 😉
P.S. A quick note, I have finally been able to get back into my wordpress. After uploading my last post on May 21, Let’s Hear It For The Reds, I lost the ability to do anything with my admin. I’ve spent hours with wordpress chat; they concluded it wasn’t their fault, and blamed it on my internet. Oddly, I was not having any other internet/cable TV issues. In addition, I just went through an automatic renewal of my blog and domain (I think something happened with this). Still, chat tech said it wasn’t a wordpress problem. Now checking again, everything with my blog appears to be working? I’m not sure, going with this simple post and see how it goes, fingers crossed!

A beautiful showcase of your lovely birds Donna. Yes WordPress continue to have their moments. Some of my blogging friends just gave up and left them altogether out of frustration. We appear to be increasingly in an age where no one wants to admit responsibility. Your Barn Swallow is beautiful and similar to our native Welcome Swallow.
A wonderful set of pics, as usual. Donna! And I always get a kick out of your post titles–so perfect and useful!
I have an older style blog that has glitches. I’d maybe update to a newer format, but backing up the blog is a pain….
Fingers crossed that your problems are over!
Fun collection of photos, Donna.
I’m glad everything has worked out, Donna. I love your bird pics!
Fantastic series, Donna. I especially love the Barn Swallow. You managed to capture all its beauty.
So sorry you have had all this trouble. Glad you are back in this space with birds that make us smile. We missed you!
Swallows are back here in the UK but once again feel that numbers down. House Sparrows have also declined. As for WP they never seem to be to blame when issues arrive. I always used the classic block editor, then 2 weeks ago it vanished. Comment from WP (summarised) is the getbused to the more clumsy editor tools. It slower and less logical. Mor time consuming
I had the same problem with losing the classic block and my theme (apparently) does not support the new blocks! After getting shot of AI and speaking to a human I was told I still had the classic editor but had not been shown where it was. Try this. Open your dashboard, go to posts and click ‘All Posts’, in the top left corner is a box that says ‘Add Post’ click the little arrow and down drops the option ‘Classic Editor’. Good luck.
I woll give it a try ..thanks
Don’t you just love WordPress? They always have to keep messing about changing things. A case of justifying having a job, and then we have to try and figure out what’s happened!
It’s the same with all these ‘views’ I (and others) keep getting, everyday all my old posts are gone through by so called ‘bots’, why?
Rant over nice post by the way.
Tried you method…works. only issue is I now have to unlearn the what little I have learnt on the cumbersome new workspace
I got locked out of mine for 12 days as well. It got temporarily assigned to someone else. But, like you, I have it back after much back and forth with the happiness fairies. If nothing else, it made me re-realize how much I enjoy bird blogging! Glad all worked out for ya! And love that swallow picture!
I adore swallows, gorgeous shot, Donna. Glad you got through another glitch! I’ve heard the same from others, so WP is definitely going through some tech issues. I can’t imagine it is easy to wrangle the internet.
Love your captures on the fence. WP seems to be going through an unusual amount of changes, doesn’t it?
Not sure what your issue must have been Donna, but I’m glad you’re back and haven’t lost anything. WP can be such a pain and the Happiness Engineers are obviously not there to make us happy!
P.S. We’ve had 3 Tawny owlets sitting in the trees to the bottom of the garden for the past week. We have a few ‘OK’ photos but I’m hoping to get more so that I can post a nice series. 🤞🤞😊
LOL! I loved the smiling face of the Osprey. I think he was so happy to see you! The Barn Swallow image is so pretty. I love the green background. It frames the Swallow perfectly.
What beautiful photos! I’ve had glitches with WP lately, but could access my account.
Photos are all beautiful. Sorry about the WP admin issues. And how they dodged ownership of any being their fault. Glad our bird whisperer is back!
Fantastic bird photos here, Donna, as always. That osprey with the fish is astounding and the first photo, the barn swallow, is a treat to see this swooping fellow in such detail. WordPress troubles are so frustrating. I find they seem to happen to me when they do system updates, I think they don’t get all the glitches out right away. I’m glad you’re back and hope the troubles are done for now.
💕👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 💕
The post looks great as do the bird photos you took! I was just thinking I hadn’t seen your blog in a while…
I hope that everything stays normal now that you have got back in.
Donna, I’m sorry to read you had issues with your blog, but I’m glad you have returned. I figured you were just busy with birding and getting those migration pics in the camera. All the birds are very nice – the Osprey must have had a real struggle with its prey given how it looks in its talons and the blood on its chest feathers.
I’ll quickly overlook the cowbird and enjoy the other fine specimens ha. Lot of people including myself have been having/had issues with WP…mine is authentication validation errors when commenting on other blog posts. WP was quick to deflect and do the lazy blame on my browser cache which is BS (I come from the IT world). A friend I have been following for years just through in the towel out of frustration and left the blog world completely.
Thats true, fences are great perches to photograph birds! 🐦 Im surprized you were able to contact somebody at wordpress. Everything seems to be AI now 😮
