Blue Jay Gallery

I found it a fun challenge on capturing the timid, fast-flying Blue Jay.

Blue Jays sittin’ pretty

They seemed to know this and teased me endlessly.Β  πŸ˜‰

  1. Great shots, Donna! Especially that last one. We have several bluejays hanging around our yard and they definitely are a challenge to capture, but oh so pretty! Merry Christmas!

  2. Wonderful captures, Donna, especially that last one. They are quite private and don’t seem to want their portraits taken. Good for you (and us) for being patient enough to lie in wait for them.
    Have a wonderful holiday week.

  3. The blue jays are my shy friends, they love peanuts and have given me a whole plethora of great pictures. I guess they providing you with the same. They are gorgeous birds fro any angle. Great post, my friend. Happy Holidays! πŸ™‚

    • Thank you, David! This one kept dropping straight down, grabbing something from the evergreens, then would shoot straight back up. He did it numerous times. I think he was teasing me, lol. My gosh, they are super-fast!

  4. Wow, Donna, what magnificent flight shots. I feel spoilt that you would put one of my favorite birds from your country in a showcase for me to admire, it always arouses worship and thanksgiving to be blessed with the opportunity to admire the beauty in the birds from other lands πŸ™‚ Have a wonderful Christmas my friend!

    • Thank you, Ashley! I now always think of you when I see Blue Jays. πŸ™‚ I’m happy you enjoyed them. My oh my, they are super-fast, I think we all had fun together, them playing catch-me-if-you-can. Best wishes for a wonderful Christmas to you and your wife!

    • Thank you, Eddie, I appreciate your visits, and love your inspirational blog! I hope your Christmas was wonderful. Best wishes to you for a healthy and beautiful New Year too!

  5. We only have the Stellar Jays, but like all Jays they’re also the amusing (and sometimes annoying) clowns. They are far too good at busting into bird feeders. πŸ˜€
