Great Crested Flycatcher
High atop a tree, I heard the calling of the Great Crested Flycatcher.

After realizing I was watching it, the flycatcher flew to a different tree.

I couldn’t help playing with that last photo doing the two composition crops, it was so colorful.Β π

So charming and lovely. I love the way the flycatcher is posing in the foliage. Great shot.
Thank you, Imorgana! I always get excited when birds are perched near flowers and berries. π
Yes, there is always an element of Paradise about these happy conjunctions.
Nice Donna! Very colorful subject!
Thank you, Reed!
That was a photo that was well worth ‘playing with’. These shots cheered me up on a gloomy day.
Your comment cheered me up on a rainy day here. π
Wonderful portraits, Donna. Love that you included the flower, too. π
Thank you, Eliza! There’s something about flowers & berries that add to a wildlife portrait. π
Great job on getting that one. Another one that is either in cover or just wont stay still but when there are mosquitoes and noseeums everywhere, itβs hard to get a decent shot. We donβt see them in Jacksonville until late spring / early summer.
Thank you, Lisa! I had to sit for a bit and keep looking for it, I was amazed how well it hid with that bright lemon-yellow! π

Looks like you’re having just way too much fun. π
I am! π
You did a great job of capturing that beautiful tapestry of green, blue, reds and gold in that last photo. What a gift it is to be presented by our Creator with such a wonderful palette of colors in nature to capture in our art! Just a simple thing like this shows His love for us… “Now as it happened, Israel loved Joseph… So one day Jacob gave him a special giftβa brightly colored coat of many colors.” Genesis 37:3. William
Thank you, William! So true! Our art would not be without our Creator’s work of Art. We are indeed blessed with all that nature offers us.
