Great Egrets – Habitat Scenes

.

The last of our Great Egrets are departing the Chesapeake Bay region, heading south for warmer winter days.

I was fortunate to see quite a few in the past three weeks.  For this post, I didn’t crop these much, to share their surrounding habitat scenery.

Always a bonus when reflections come into play!  πŸ€—

  1. This is always a magnificent bird to photograph Donna, and you have done even better to capture reflections, which are also a delight when capturing shorebirds.

  2. Lovely photos, Donna. And is it always nice to see their natural surroundings. I think you are right – we have had regular visits from both great and snowy egrets the past few weeks – but just today I was thinking that I hadn’t seen any in the last couple of days. I did see one lone osprey up the creek where I walk daily.

    • Thank you, Susan! Lucky you with an Osprey sighting! It’s been several weeks since I’ve seen any. I thought I might have seen one a few days ago myself, but I cannot call it. πŸ™‚

    • Thank you, Simon! I love spotting these birds in pretty surroundings, they always look so beautiful and stand out so well. If there’s water and reflections, that’s even better! πŸ™‚

  3. I do like these wider views, Donna, and seeing the big picture of your stomping grounds. And absolutely those water reflections are extra points!

Is that water with all the stumps tidal?
