Excellent images and congratulations on those double clicks!! Those Terns are so hard to catch sometimes.
Thank you, Deborah! Yes, those terns are so acrobatic, it took me a lot of shots to get these! 😉
👀👏👏👏📷🌹the second photo… WOW. Absolutely perfect🤗👁️ Wow…again
if a painter wanted to draw a picture with flying malards, he would definitely paint it like this. It’s a beautiful composition
Thank you very much, Mic 🥰 It was shot in the early morning, my favorite time to photograph birds.
🤗📷
Thank you so much, Mic!! 😊
Nice drop of Gull!
Excellent photos! Yes, the Egret is lovely. The Tern is excellent as well. You really can sense the dynamic/motion of the bird in the photo.
Thank you, Simon! I sure do have fun with birds in flight, and I am always practicing! 🙂
Terns will give you one hell of a workout trying to get them in flight. Can’t count the hours trying to photograph them when they are hunting the waters – have noticed they will raise up just slightly to shed speed right before they dive -helps a bit on a the timing, but still a crap shoot ha! Nice tins.
The more I try, the more determine I am, hehe. Thanks for their hunting tip!
I always love your photos of the birds, especially those I doubt I will ever see, Donna! I hope you don’t mind I added your post to the line up of my “numbers-themed” post this week (for Sunday Stills). I know I can’t see too many birds! The egret in flight is fabulous and gotta love those mallards!
Thank you, Terri! So happy you enjoy them!! The egrets are just now slowly arriving, I am looking forward to seeing them more. No problem in adding me, thanks for the shout-out! I can never see too many birds either. The more, the merrier happy dance! hehe 🙂
Very Nice Series of 5 on the wing Donna! Especially liked the last image of the Caspian Tern! Enjoyed seeing your images!
Thank you, Reed! Gotta love those terns, they are so elegant! 🙂
Perfect flight shots, Donna! Lovely series!!
Thank you much, Indira!!
I love the Laughing Gull shot and the water completes it.
Thank you, Jane! A lucky shot! 😉
The Caspian Tern shot is exceptional!
Thank you, Jane! I do love the Caspian’s elegance in flight, I was thrilled to get this one in his quick acrobatic turn.
Great in flight shots, my compliment…. not easy to make them.
Thank you, Rudi! I am always practicing shooting birds in flight, keeps me on my toes! 😉
That is a very nice collection of photographs!
This would make a great series for education. “What bird is this?”
Thank you, Wally! I do like showing similar birds for comparison, it continues to help me sharpen my skills as well! 🙂
What can I say so gorgeous. You must be so fast with your takes. Lovely.
Thank you, Sandy! I never stop practicing photographing birds in flight, it keeps me on my toes and the skill of locking in on focus while panning the bird. I love this challenge! I am certainly not always successful, but the times I am are well worth the fun and joy of success. 🙂
They certainly must be very rewarding moments.😊
💃😊
Fantastic series, as usual. 😊👏
Thank you very much, Pepper! 😊
I am glad that you put in two tern pictures. One good tern deserves another.
It certainly does! 😁
Nice series, Donna, love the acrobatic Caspian tern, and the egret is stunning!
Thank you, Eliza! The Caspians have moved on north but the egrets are now starting to show up, yay! That was my second sighting of at GE so far, and it flew right over me, I truly was excited to see it and then get that shot. 🙂
Great waterbird captures Donna, love the Caspian Tern especially, they always make great shots.
Thank you, Ashley! Yes, the Caspians have that bit of elegance that shines in their flight. 🙂
Excellent photos all! You have captured the style of flying of each bird species. 🙂
Thank you very much, HJ! 😊
Fabulous flight photos, Donna. That Caspian tern is quite an acrobat. Incidentally, I saw my first one last week right here in Colorado Springs!
Thank you, Tanja! Congrats on your Caspian sighting, woo hoo!!
A grateful thank you back to you. 🙂
The tern shots are great and the others very nice as well, Donna. I especially like the trailing water from the Laughing Gull’s lift off.
Ah, and there it is now. 🙂
👍 😊
Thank you, Steve! We were drifting in our boat among a flock of Laughing Gulls resting in the water, it was amazing to see! Of course, they were taking flight as we drifted, I got lucky with the water trail!
Not sure what happened and maybe it’ll show up later, but my comment doesn’t seem to have taken.
Great Tern shots, Donna, and all the others very nice as well. I like the trailing water as the Laughing Gull lifts off.
It made it through the first time, but I’ll take another compliment! hehe 😉 Thanks, Steve, I’m seeing lots of bloggers having problems with lots of blogs, with issues on leaving comments, or clicking the like button. I think something’s up with WP. 🤔
Wonderful shots, Donna! I love the tern turning around and the underside of the beautiful egret’s wing.
Thank you, Barbara! I really do have fun with the terns and gulls, trying to get those acrobatic maneuvers they so easily do! 😉
Beautifully captured. I particularly like the gull and tern photos!!
Thank you, Belinda!
Those beautiful swooping birds give such a sense of freedom.
Gwen.
Thank you, Gwen, I love that thought!
Your flight shots are terrific, Donna! I especially love your two shots of the Caspian Tern. They are so awesome to watch in flight and as they dive.
Thank you, Carol! Yes, those Caspians have such an elegance to them, they are very fun to watch.
I just realized that I can have a fun game attempting to identify the birds from the photos before scrolling down to the captions!
Great thinking! You will surely ace my upcoming pop quizzes! 😁 😊
I look forward to them!
