2023 Winter Scenes at Eastern Neck NWR
Here are my favorites of several scenes that caught my eye while venturing with nature at Eastern Neck NWR these past few months. Be prepared for several sunrises, my favorite time to start my visit. 😊
Love these Donna, and especially loving the 5th photo down of tall grass-type plants reflected in a beach pool. That’s so awesome!
Thank you, Liz! That pool of water is almost permanent year-round with tidal water seeping in from below it. I have taken a lot of photos of it, getting the reflection of the grasses and blooming trees, and also the opposite direction for sunrises! 🙂
You are surrounded by so much beauty, a never ending feast for the eyes, even in winter. My favorite picture is #6, with the dusting of snow in the meadow, the little birdhouse, and the stunning branch reflections in the water…
Thank you, Barbara! I do love this refuge. On the snow dusting shots, you can see we didn’t get any snow this winter! That was about it, lol. But it was so pretty on the cattails. I tried to do close-ups but failed, they would have been spectacular in focus. Next winter challenge!
Thank you, Michael!
You’re welcome, Donna.
Very much appreciated. Lovely to see where the birds live and where you enjoy photographing!! Thank you.
Thank you, Sandy, and you’re welcome! A special place for me. 🙂
Made me smile 😁. I do love a nice sunrise, well any will do LOL
Yay! 😁 Thank you, Ted!
Beautiful series of images Donna! Enjoyed seeing them!
Thank you, Reed!
Wonderful sunrise scenes and landscape shots, Donna!
Thank you, Indira!
Looks like you’ve had some wonderful walks too! 👍😀
Not quite so snowy though 😉 🙂
Lovely landscapes, Donna. What a blissful retreat!
Thank you, Eliza, one of my ‘heaven’s on earth’. 🙂
Oh, it’s gorgeous, Donna. I loved the reflections, large vistas, and gorgeous sunrises.
Thank you, Deborah! We had a mild winter, just a dusting on the cattails! A special place for me. 🙂
What a gorgeous place to be immersed, Donna. The early bird really does get the worm!
Thank you, Jane! I’m one of those birdies! 😉
Thank you, Gwen, I very much agree. My special place!
You make a rather drab landscape look exciting. I like the point of view in the final sunrise, the one-point perspective on the boardwalks and the reflections.
Thank you, Jane! Winter does have it’s share of beauty, and I love finding it. 🙂
A beautiful spot, Donna! I love your sunrise photos 😊
Thank you, Belinda! Hardest part is getting up and going beforehand, but I am always happy when I arrive to watch a sunset. Puts a happy dance in my step rest of the morning, because the birds love sunrises too!
Some outstanding shots. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful world with us.
Thank you, and you’re very welcome!
Lovely landscapes, Donna!
Thank you, Steve!
It was good to get a background picture of your bird photography and the views were wonderful in themselves.
I sometimes have to remind myself to step back and see the big picture. 🙂
What an outstanding series of fine photographs, Donna!
I can smell that salt marsh at low tide from here. It may an acquired taste, but I like it. Simply a gorgeous collection of images.
Thank you, Wally! Yes, it is an acquired smell/taste, I love it! hehe 🙂
Wow, such beauty!! Thanks for sharing, Donna.
Thank you, Patty Anne, and you’re most welcome!
Fabulous series and you saved the best for last! Eastern Neck provides you a wonderful selection of scenes–nice to be along for the early ride 😀
Thank you, Ellen! If I could just learn to enjoy hearing that moring alarm go off. 😂 But once a cup of coffee is in me, I am ready to go! I do love going here.
Beautiful scenes and atmospheres, Donna. No wonder you keep returning there!
Thank you, Tanja! Since the refuge is out of the way so to speak, it’s easy to be alone somewhere and enjoy it’s serenity. I love that!
Beautiful sunrises and reflections. What could be better other than being right there? 😊
You along side me, Pepper! 😊
That would be so much fun. Thank you! 😊
Photos like these are so important. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Kent!
