Blue-footed Double-crested Cormorant
This next bird became an interesting find, a Double-crested Cormorant with turquoise blue feet that matched its eyes! Its webbed feet should be black.
I shared this one to an eBird Maryland cohort, and they’d never seen/heard this before. It was suggested the change of the feet color is from its past diet.
Double-crested Cormorant with turquoise blue feet
Has anyone ever seen a blue-footed cormorant before? This curious mind wants to know! 🙂
I have not seen this before; but now I’ll be staring at cormorant feet!
I think I will forever be staring at their feet from now on too! Thank you!
It’s eyes are blue, too. Usually they are emerald green. It is not April the first…nope, never seen that before. Maybe a cormorant flew to the Galapagos Islands?
Yea, it probably had a cool vacay to the islands! hehe We see their eyes as turquoise blue, not green around the Chesapeake Bay.
What an amazing find Donna, a blue footed Cormorant, yes it is a great match for eyes.
A new sub-species? 😉 🤣 Thank you, Ashley!
How curious! Be careful what you eat! Hugs.
I thought of that too 😂with all the crazy colored stuff we eat! 🤪
How true! My mum always said God should have fitted her body with a zip. Personally I’m not sure about that but we could check colour changes. 🤣
🤣
That is a great find, Donna!
Thank you, Indira!
Maybe it had been standing in cold water for quite a while?
Great thought! 😉
Wow! Amazing find, maybe a new species and you’ll get to name it. 🙂
hehehehe wouldn’t that be special! 😉
I haven’t. What a wonderful and unique sighting! Its feet match its beautiful eyes.
Thank you, Deborah!
What an interesting find.
Now I’ll be forever looking at this species feet for another one! 🙂
What an amazing find, very exciting!😊
Thank you, Belinda, I was really surprised! 😊
Most interesting.
This one just wanted to make a fashion statement.
How extraordinary! I hope you find out what the story is there!
Me too!
I have never seen a blue-footed Cormorant before – how intriguing.
Now I am looking at all cormorants’ feet, lol.
