FMTM52Week Challenge- Week 1 – New Beginnings

This year I have decided to attempt my first word press photo challenge to challenge my comfort zone.  It is hosted by one of my favorite blogs, From Moments to Memories, and is a 52 week photo challenge.

This week is the first challenge and is entitled “New Beginnings”.

My interpretation is each day’s sunrise offers us a new beginning….

If you’re interested in challenging your comfort zone, join the fun!  And as always, thank you for stopping by my blog dear friends!

  1. Great first photo for your challenge. Gorgeous! Good luck! I’ve considered trying a challenge to break me out of my photo comfort zone and try new perspectives. Maybe you’ll inspire me to try it this year 🙂

    • Thanks! I’ve been going to do a challenge for some time but always chickened out. (bird pun lol) I have followed Sheila’s blog for a few years and figured I’d support hers and give it a try. Not sure I can put a bird in to most of the challenges, so we’ll see how it goes getting out of my comfort zone. 🙂

  2. There’s a bunch of blogs featuring ‘photo challenges’ and I have the best intent of joining…. but life gets in the way or is it my internet connection 😏 Lovely photo, and I look forward to future posts on the challenge.

    • Thanks Ingrid! I’ve seen many challenges out there too, & always worried about the pressures and succeeding. I’ve followed Sheila’s blog for a few years and thought I’d give her support and get out of my comfort zone. We’ll see how it goes, lol. 🙂

    • Thanks Jane! If you’re seeing the ‘feature photo’ also, yes all three of my photos were taken from different directions, but they are each from a different day. 🙂

  3. Donna, that Marshy Creek photo is drop dead gorgeous! I don’t quite ‘get’ how this works, i.e. I don’t do hashtags, instagram, or a blog other than my facebook page. Maybe in the future I might try this, but I’ll stick right now to just posting once a day on my FB page. That, for me, is ‘pressure’ (not sure that is the right word) enough. But I will enjoy looking at all of your photos and what the weekly theme is.

    • Thanks Susan! If you noticed, CBEC is to the far right in the header photo. I took these different days from my ‘backyard’ when we lived at Oyster Cove. Now you have a hint on why I love CBEC so much!

I know about the ‘pressures’ to keep up, but if you are interested, Sheila is also doing it on her facebook page, info is on her blog link. You’re FB exposure will quadruple if you can try it on your FB page. I’m not a FBer, but I do try to follow a few FBs (including yours) when I can. 🙂

  4. This is absolutely stunning, Donna! Thanks so much for doing the challenge! I love it and look forward to your interpretations!

  5. Great captures Donna and you are certainly up to the challenge! I’m sure each week will offer opportunities for some creative compositions..On Christmas day I challenged myself to shoot strongly back lit ring-billed gulls fishing in Wilde Lake, Columbia. Challenging exposure metering, but when it all came together, the golden glow of the gull wings and sprays of water produced some rewarding images (bottom of my home page). I may go to Prime Hook and Bombay Hook soon some time this month. The Snow Geese have finally arrived.

  6. This is a wonderful image of a new beginning, Donna! I agree with you that we get a chance for a new beginning with each sunrise.

  7. Really gorgeous scene you caught there. I don’t often get up in time for a sunrise, but then my sunsets make up for it! Probably the main reason I moved to the west coast! 😀
