Series: Take A Moment and Enjoy A Sunset
After a few days of rain, our skies began to finally clear late yesterday afternoon.Β And then, after arriving to South Carolina a week ago, our first gorgeous, dramatic sunset unfolded over the lake for our enjoyment.
A sundog even appeared to the left of the sun itself (between the two trees in the foreground).
It was a moment of reflection, a moment of thought.
And a moment of thankfulness to the Artist above for our new chapter in life.
Sunset over Lake Greenwood from our RV lot
Ahhhhh…..life is good!
It’s gorgeous, and I’m so happy life is good!
Thank you Deborah!
Yes it is good. It would be even better though if Spring and Summer would come back in the next week or so. π
I hear ya, David, that would definitely be awesome. π
Not sure about Lake Greenwood but I can definitely say the sunrise/sunsets in Charleston are so much clearer and colorful than New England.
That’s interesting, I wonder why. Maybe the further south you go, the better? We’ve never been to the NE states. We’re planning to in next year or two. π
Probably the ocean breeze.
Thereβs nothing a good sunset- or sunrise- to soothe the soul. Thanks for sharing!
You are so right, Susan! π
A beautiful sunset Donna!! ππ»
Thank you, John!
a peaceful moment, with long lasting effects
so true, Eddie β€
I’m happy to see you enjoying your new chapter in life, Donna. And both of these photos are beautiful. You captured the majestic quality of the bald eagle, and the solitude in the sunset photo is divine. What a wonderful RV lot you found.
Thank you, Jet! We’ve own this RV lot in Lake Greenwood Motorcoach Resort for over five years, but haven’t been able to use it the last three years due to my accident fall. It’s wonderful to be able to spend time at it again now that that three-year chapter of our life is over. A West Coast adventure is definitely in our next couple years’ horizon! π
If you ever make it to the SF Bay, please let me know so we can hook up. I’ll show you and your husband around.
Thank you much, Jet, I will! π
Beautiful sunset Donna! Have a Great Time there! Keep the photos coming!
Thank you, Reed! I will! π
Beautiful setting!
Thank you, Eliza!
A never-tiring phenomenon! Stunning picture, Donna!
Sure makes the day of whatever happened a little better! Thank you, Vic!
I’m typing too fast and ahead of myself too much, so sorry, Indira!! π
That shot is awesome. Breathtaking & sigh-inducing. Beauty such as that warms the soul.π€ππβ€βοΈππ
Thank you, Vic! Said wonderfully!! π
The scene is wonderfully serene, Donna. If we only keep our eyes open, we get blessed with so many similarly beautiful moments.
Thank you, Tanja, that is most definitely true. The simple “stop, look and listen” is one of the keys! β€
Yay! yes it is Donna, so glad for you both! Blessings π
Thank you, Ashley! π
Fantastic shot! You have a great skill to shoot sunsets. Love it, Donna. π
Thank you much, HJ! π
A spectacular sunset, Donna. π
Thank you, Sylvia! π
Lovely, Donna!
Thank you, Belinda!
I always enjoy your sunsets. I remember a friend and I were amazed by some phenomenah of a small rainbow in the sky and when I looked it up in my past images, indeed, it was a partial sundog.
Thank you, Jane! Yay, you’ve seen AND captured a sundog! If the clouds in the sky are positioned just right around the sun, the perfect sundog sighting is seeing two, one on each side of the sun, each at the exact same distance from the sun as the other. I love that we learn from each other through our blogs. π
Beautiful sunset Donna.Nature creats wonderful phenomenon in the sky during sunrise and sunset.Sometimes there are amazing shades of intermingled colours that we are just mesmerized with them.
Thank you, Deeksha, I so agree!! π
That looks like a beautiful area!
It is so peaceful and quiet here, very enjoyable. Thank you for visiting, commenting, and following my blog, Dennis!
I can imagine. We have some beautiful areas around our city as well. When I want to treat my soul well, I leave the city and do a hike through nature. Very peaceful and refreshing!
Absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you Gunta!
