Anhinga Perches on a Car
.
I passed a female Anhinga perched on a branch within a mangrove.
Being very shy and skittish, I was shocked when she flew out of the mangrove, pass me, and then land before me on a car parked alongside the pond of water.Β π²

Anhinga (female) lands on a car
.
With a leary eye on me, the female Anhinga then preceded to spread and dry her wings.
.
“Excuse me please, while I dry off!”
.
I’m very glad to say, it wasn’t my car!Β π

A great shot Donna. Perhaps the heat from the car engine may have been a learnt concept to assist drying. π
Thank you, Ashley! Well, birds are very smart! π
Here. I’ll pose for you. LOL! Pretty silver wings…
She must have thought I was a model agent π
Yep!
What a star pose! π Hope she didn’t leave a calling card to ruin the car’s finish, ha!
π€© That’s why I was glad it wasn’t my car, hehe. Oh, and also those claws! π³
Hmm, someone is going to return to their car and find a new, interesting hood ornament and a bunch of poop. Great timing!
Thank you, Jane! I was very glad it wasn’t my car! π€

And letting the fellas know, “Here I am!”

Certainly a fun one too!
A perfectly capture with wings outstretched and a bonus reflection. π
Thank you, Irene! She was workin’ the black carpet! π

Thank you, Barbara! I got a new car before Christmas, can you see a hubby’s face when trying to explain poop and claw scratches on a new car?!! Whew!! π
I’ve seen lots of anhingas, but I must say that is the oddest behavior! How fun for you to witness it, Donna.
Thank you, Jet! Wildlife will always amaze us!
Oh my, Iβve never since this either, usually itβs a gull or a crow.
I know, it was a shocker to me. Anhingas are so skittish, it was a great photo op, lol.
