Great Egret Reflections – Swamp Habitat

Whether it’s birding the wetlands or the swamps, both afford astounding finds.  Including reflections!

Here are two photos of a Great Egret reflecting in a swamp in the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park.

    • Thanks Hien! The swamp has a wonderful canopy of trees and there’s usually no breezes to ripple the waters. I have several places to peak through the trees to hopefully find these amazing photo reflection opportunities with egrets and herons.

    • Thank you, Barbara! I love this area where there are several swamp openings in the forest canopy. Many times there’s a heron or egret fishing or resting. I always sneak up very slowly to peek through the openings so they don’t hear me and fly away. πŸ™‚ (Alligators live in those swampy waters too. 😳)

    • Thank you, Denise! Early morning at this swamp area is a must-stop if I pass the entrance in my travels when out birding. It is so easy a trek-and-check, and has afforded me many beautiful egret and heron reflections. We are creatures of habit too! πŸ˜‰
