Philadelphia Vireos

Before I get to those Eagle flight shots πŸ˜‰, I’ve got to share some more excitement captured at Chesapeake Farms.

Welcome to my bird lifer list #243 Philadelphia Vireo!Β  πŸ€—πŸ’ƒπŸ€—

Philadelphia Vireo (my lifer #243)

Maybe a dozen or so Philadelphia Vireos were flitting about in a tree, then dropping to the grass to forage.

I did not do so well with photos.Β  They were so fast, and I wasn’t haven’t the best of luck with shooting out my car window.Β  But, hey, it’s a lifer I’ve documented with a photo ID, so I’m very proud of that!

  1. How exciting! Sometimes we’re lucky and the birds will pose perfectly for us. Other times they escape us. Too camera shy. All we can do is try our best to capture them.

    • Thank you, Simon, it was exciting, and you are right. My job is to get the bird shot good enough to prove ID, and I’ve got a new lifer! Then forward, beautiful shots for sure to earn a post. hehe 😊 I would have liked to have done better, but boy, little guys were so fast.

    • Thank you, Ashley, I have really been blessed this year with new lifers, so thankful! I very much hope and pray things will improve for you. I don’t know what it’s going to be like here in another month or so. I am worried.

  2. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ“·πŸŒΉ.. I built a lot of bird feeders in our garden full of trees. There are always enough of them … before I pull out the camera 😁

    • Thank you, Martha! Re Chesapeake Farms, they also have a section that is dedicated for Wood Ducks, lots of nesting boxes you’ll find right alongside the drive treeline side with the marsh on the roadside. I’m hoping to see those beauties this spring myself.
