While observing the Wood Stork, English naturalist Richard Bradley (1688?–1732) noted, “Their faces look like an old country man that’s had too much sun and is much in need of a facelift.”
This past winter, high on my Florida photo-op wish list was the uniquely gorgeous Wood Stork.

This one even has a bird in it, a Brown Pelican. 😉

Just a mile down the road from us lives an adorable donkey on a small farmstead that I always looked for on my passing by.

American Kestrels
This past winter, I was fortunate to know an area in Everglades City where I could find American Kestrels, North America’s littlest falcon.
